What are Orthodontics?
Orthodontic treatment is ideal for many patients who have crowded or crooked teeth. Whether you have overcrowding, misalignment, spaces and gaps or you have a malocclusion problem, we offer orthodontic care to all of our patients. Regardless of your age, orthodontic treatment can do wonders for lifting your confidence and improving the health of your smile. Orthodontic treatment is personalized for each individual patient, so you can feel confident in the work being done.
Why would Orthodontics be needed?
Crowded and crooked teeth can mean more than just a self-esteem problem. When your teeth aren’t perfectly aligned, it can be difficult or even impossible to clean them properly. This has a lot to do with not being able to reach certain areas with either a toothbrush or piece of floss. Orthodontic treatment has both health and cosmetic benefits to those undergoing care.
Who is a candidate for Orthodontic treatment?
There is no age limit when it comes to receiving quality orthodontic care. It’s a good idea to bring your child in for their first consultation around the age of seven or eight. For adults, it’s never too late to take control of your smile and improve your look. We offer several different orthodontic treatment options to help correct the many dental problems that you currently have.
What can be expected during Orthodontic treatment?
You can expect to first come in for a complete consultation. This consultation will involve x-rays, impressions and a thorough examination. This allows us to get to know you and your smile so that we are able to provide you with the care that you need. You will need to make time to come into the office every few weeks for an orthodontic checkup. This checkup involves either making new aligners for you to wear or adjusting metal wiring to braces. You can expect treatment to take anywhere from a few months to several years depending on your personal needs.
