Porcelain Veneers

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are a great way to transform your smile with minimal work needed. These veneers simply sit over your natural existing teeth, covering flaws and imperfections that you may not like. Many patients choose to get veneers because of how durable and long-lasting they are when compared to other options. Veneers typically last for 10 or more years before replacement is necessary.

Why would Porcelain Veneers be needed?

It’s not uncommon to be unhappy with your smile. You might be finding that you just don’t like the cracks, chips, discoloration or unevenness of your smile. You’re looking for a change before a big event or ceremony so that you can look your best. Veneers are a great way to cover many dental problems that would otherwise require months or years of treatment.

Who is a candidate for Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers work best when attached to otherwise healthy adult front teeth. Veneers are made of porcelain, but they’re incredibly durable. Most of our patients who want veneers can come into the office to have them placed. Your veneers can be brushed as well as flossed as you would your natural teeth.

What happens during the Porcelain Veneer procedure?

The first step to placing veneers will begin by filing and buffing the front teeth. This improves the fit of the veneers as well as how well they adhere to the teeth themselves. We then take detailed impressions that are used to make the actual veneers. You will be scheduled to come into the office for a second visit to have the veneers placed. The second visit involves carefully placing each veneer onto a front tooth one-by-one. This process takes some time since we want to get the fit and look perfect. You’ll then get to see your brand new transformed smile that will have you feeling better about yourself.
